A photographer taking photos of pregnant women needs to be familiar with the human body in its natural form. Prepare the Expectant Mother
Photographing a pregnant mother takes great sensitivity. Many women may be self-conscious about their bodies. Talk to them about how they feel about being naked in their maternity photos – some women may prefer to be semi naked.
Ask her to remove any clothing that has elastic in it that marks their skin at least 2 hours before the photo shoot.
Use fabrics that do not mark the woman’s skin and capture the emotion the mother feels for her unborn child.
Posing your Clients
You need to understand the beauty of the natural human form to get beautiful photos of pregnant women. Get photos of the father on his knees lovingly stroking and kissing his partner’s pregnant belly.
It is a highly emotional time for the mother-to-be and her partner, so keep in mind it is the professional photographer’s job to eternalize that love emotion for the client.
