		<description>Thanks for the tip, Eva.  I can remember using this in my early days of photograpy, but had forgotten about it.  I have used the hosiery over the lens, but it cuts out too much of the image for me.  I&#039;m really enjoying using your techniques...got your book yesterday.</description>

		<description>Eva, another old trick from back in the day was to use pantyhose stretched over the lens to simulate a soft focus filter. Black works the best. It&#039;s more of an even effect though where Vaseline has peaks and valleys on the filter.

Another technique that may be of interest to readers is the Tony Sweet &#039;Swoop&#039;. Basically you give your camera some extra shutter time and swoop it while making the exposure. Swooping vertically in a forest for example will give an effect similar to your effect #2 image above. It&#039;s best to swoop with lines but that&#039;s certainly not a rule!</description>
