<description>I now use a combination of LightRoom and CS3. Learning PS is like peeling layers off an onion. Before I acquired CS3, I used the freebie version of PS 2.0 which came with my Canon 20D. At that time I started using Lightzone, which is an interesting piece of software. I haven&#039;t used it in awhile, but think I might start looking at it again, since I have it. Anyway, it is something you might consider putting on your list. LightZone is based on the Ansel Adams zone concept. Check it out at http://www.lightcrafts.com/products/.

Here is another free software to check out. I have used it, and actually bought the paid version, which worked for me for quite some time,

http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/PhotoPlus/default.asp

Photo Plus is part of a suite of DTP and Drawing software which works pretty well together. It is Windows only, and no Mac version. Anyway I liked it. But again, now that I have CS3, I&#039;m hooked on driving the Cadillac of the industry. I originally found it simply by googling free photo editing software.
